Morrow Flowers

Our flower palettes

Three arrangements, each paired with a detail from the painting. Borrow a colour, a shape or both.

A loose bunch of blush roses and cream flowers tied with twine.
Painted detail behind the blush and leaf palette.

Blush and leaf

Soft pink, cream and sage

A loose hand-tie

We would gather rounded blooms close at the centre, then let a few fine stems rise above them. The open edges keep the bunch light.

Stem and vase notes
Stems to ask for
Ask for garden roses or another ruffled flower, with smaller ivory heads and a little soft foliage.
A gift to carry
A flared vase gives the outer stems room. Mention the vase opening if the gift comes with one.

Burnt-orange and plum flowers on long stems in a narrow glass bottle.
Painted detail behind the poppy and plum palette.

Poppy and plum

Burnt orange, wine and olive

A few long stems

Give each flower its own outline. One warm head beside two darker blooms brings the colours forward without filling the whole vase.

Stem and vase notes
Stems to ask for
Ask for a poppy-like cup beside a darker tulip shape. Curved stems give the arrangement a little movement.
A shelf or sideboard
A bottle neck holds sparse stems upright. Include the height of the shelf above it.

A low footed bowl of white flowers and greens spreading out across a tabletop.
Painted detail behind the leaf and linen palette.

Leaf and linen

Warm white, fern and deep green

A low table bowl

Let foliage travel sideways from a shallow bowl. A few pale flowers near the rim give it a centre without blocking the conversation.

Stem and vase notes
Stems to ask for
Ask for small white flowers, leafy branches and one trailing stem. Leave pockets of space between them.
A table for supper
Allow for serving dishes and candleholders. A view across the table matters more than the diameter alone.
